Contractor Websites
Websites for contractors that actually bring in jobs.
Hand-coded sites for plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC techs, landscapers, and builders. Fast on a phone, easy to call, and built to win the job before the customer keeps scrolling.
Word of mouth has a ceiling.
Referrals are the backbone of every good trade business, and nothing I build will replace them. But here's what's changed: even a referred customer looks you up before calling. Someone gives your name to their neighbor, and the neighbor types it into Google from the couch. If nothing comes up, or the top result is a Facebook page you haven't touched in two years, a chunk of those warm leads quietly go somewhere else. You never hear about the jobs you didn't get.
A website doesn't compete with word of mouth. It catches the work word of mouth sends you, and it picks up the work referrals never reach: the new homeowner who doesn't know anyone yet, the person searching at night with water on the floor, the property manager comparing three companies on a lunch break.
What a contractor site actually needs.
- A phone number you can tap from every screen
- Photos of your real jobs, not stock models in hard hats
- A page for each service and each area you cover
- Your license number where people can see it
- Loads fast on a phone, even on job-site signal
- Plain answers: what you do, where, and how to reach you
None of this is complicated, but most contractor sites get it wrong. The number is buried on a contact page, the photos are stock, and the whole thing was built from a template that takes eight seconds to load. Real photos of your work do more to win a homeowner's trust than any paragraph I could write, and a visible license number settles the "is this guy legit" question before it's asked. For the full picture of what a build includes, see custom website development.
Speed wins emergencies.
A lot of trade work starts with a panicked search: "plumber near me" at 11 p.m., "emergency electrician" on a Sunday. That person isn't browsing. They tap the first few results, and the first site that loads and shows a phone number gets the call. A heavy template site that stalls on a phone doesn't just look bad, it hands emergency jobs to whoever loads faster. Every site I build is written by hand to be light, which is why speed is a feature and not an afterthought. I go deeper on this in why website speed matters.
Built by a local.
I live in Santa Clarita, so the trades here are familiar ground: plumbers running calls from Valencia to Canyon Country, landscapers working Saugus and Newhall, roofers who cover the whole valley and out to Castaic. If you'd rather sit down in person before hiring anyone, we can do that, and if you're a contractor in another city or another state, everything works just as well over calls and texts. More on working with me locally at web design in Santa Clarita.
Straight pricing, simple process.
You deal with change orders and bid games all day, so I won't play them with you. We talk once about your business and what the site needs to do, and you get a straight number, not a range that mysteriously grows. I write every line myself, you review the site as it comes together, and when it launches you own it outright with no forced monthly platform fee. I published a plain-language breakdown of how much a website costs so you can see the numbers before we ever talk.
Plan
We talk, on the phone or in person, about your trade, your service area, and the jobs you want more of.
Design and build
A custom layout, coded by hand for speed, with your real photos and your real work front and center.
Launch and rank
Deployed, wired for local SEO, and set up so Google, Maps, and AI assistants can find you.
Contractor questions.
How much does a contractor website cost?
It depends on what the site needs to do. Most trade businesses need a focused site: your services, your photos, your service area, and a phone number that's easy to tap. That's a very different project from a big build with booking or customer accounts. Tell me what you're after and I'll give you a straight number after one conversation. There's also a plain-language breakdown in how much a website costs.
I don't have professional photos of my work. Is that a problem?
No. Clear phone photos of real jobs beat polished stock photos every time, because homeowners can tell the difference. Start snapping a before-and-after on your next few jobs and you'll have a gallery in a month. I'll handle cropping, compression, and layout so they load fast.
Can you build pages for each city I work in?
Yes. Service-area pages are one of the most effective things a trade site can have, because people search with their city in mind. Each page is written properly for that area, not copy-pasted with the city name swapped, since Google is good at spotting that shortcut.
I get all my work from referrals. Do I still need a website?
Referrals are the best leads you'll ever get, but most referred customers still look you up before they call. A simple, honest site confirms you're legitimate and makes the call happen. It also catches the people who don't have anyone to ask. More general answers are on my FAQ page.
