In this industry, your website is your portfolio before anyone sees your portfolio. Someone looking for a new colorist, or booking their first facial or lash fill, has no way to judge your work yet, so they judge the closest thing they can see: your site. If it looks sharp and current, they assume the same about the work. If it's a dated template with stretched photos and last year's prices, they quietly assume that too, fair or not.

Design matters more for salons, spas, and studios than for almost any other business, because you're selling an aesthetic. A plumber can get away with a plain site. You can't. The site has to feel like walking into your space, before anyone actually does.

The booking part matters most. Most salons and spas already run on something like Vagaro, Square Appointments, or GlossGenius, and there's no reason to change that.
